Adios! (maybe)

For all of you “The End is Nigh!” and “Science will destroy everything!” people…

They’re about to fire up the LHC

Yeah…

(If you know, and don’t care, skip next section)
———————————————-

For those of you who aren’t nerdy enough to know what the hell the LHC is I’ll give an quick, mostly non-scientific explenation:

The LHC, Large Hadron Collider, is in fact an Hadron collider, that is very large. It’s a ring that covers many miles, like a really long tube. It forces tiny objects (particals, atoms, electrons) to collide.

They might use it as kinda like an fusion-reactor beta test. Fusion is how the sun makes energy. The sun is far away, the Swiss mountians of Doom are not.

So aside from exploding the planet with WAY more energy than we can possebly control, it should be able to do 2 other things.

1: Make Black Holes. I have no idea how this works, but my guess is that if that happens, we’re screwed.

2: Make anti-matter (dark matter, black materia… dunno). A really smart scientist guy has stated that LOOKING at this stuff might make reality implode. It sounds stupid, but the guy is supposedly very intelligent andhave written sever books on the subject…

————————–

Yeah, I think they were planning to start up the LHC the 10th or something… thats tomorrow…

So just in case we’re f5skd, bye bye people, nice knowing you.

Simen edit:

While some believe it’s the end of the world, others are sure we’ll find something new and exciting. I’m among those who think that a wednesday is a bad day for world destruction, very… anticlimatic.

But no worries, I was linked this picture from someone who seem to know more about what is going on there, and as long as they have something like this, why worry?

Also, check out this awesome video about the HLC…

Btw… the firct collission won’t happen until after a month…

More pictures then you’ll ever need? Check!

Going on a field trip, a field trip, a field trip…. Ehrm, yes. We went on a “field trip” and therefor I must take pictures. These aren’t exactly fantastic or awesomeastic but I’ll post them anyway. These are pictures from a place called Høldippern or the hole dipper (sounds kinda dirty don’t you think?) if you translate it. It’s basically a big lake with some nice places to bath and do other crazy stuff us gamers try to avoid. Yet, we were there and some of us even bathed (Manasky) in that cold blue thing. I liked it up there, it’s a nice place if you ask me so I went around taking my pictures as I always do. So here they are, click on the pictures to look at them in the size they were meant to be viewed at. For those of you with small monitors, remember to enlarge it using your browsers enlargement tools.

From the other side of tha hood

Today me and my fellow sun hating friend Anette went on the opposite side of the valley to take pictures from there. Unfortunately, it was HOT outside, a lot of mosquitoes and the view from there wasn’t as good as I had hoped. Still, I took these pictures and I might as well share these with you. The person in the pictures is a person who’s been commenting here a few times, and hopefully soon will register on the forums soon *nudge nudge hint hint*

We all know she’s thinking it; “As soon as he’s done, I’m killing Simen and dumping the body in the lake, Muahaha”. Probably.

“Shocking! Just shocking really”.

Panorama picture, you know I love them. Took it when Anette wasn’t aware of it, which explains why she’s not making funny faces. :P

Gone camping!

Sunday, May 13th, 2007

Me, Gunn Berit and Trond went camping out in Nordmarka, a large forrest area outside of Oslo. We walked up, camped, grilled, had fun and slept when it rained (because it rained A LOT from 1 AM to about 12 PM). I could go on about the trip, but I won’t so I’ll just show some pictures instead.

Visiting an old friend

Saturday, May 5th, 2007

Me and my friend Gunn Berit went to a place where a few of the visitors of Simens Asylum have been before. Being a nowegian we’re in our forest pretty often, and this place we went to today is a special one. Along the years I’ve done everything from studying to camping there, in all kinds of weather from snow to sun. Today it was incredibly sunny, so we figured we’d go for a walk up there.
